Ulli, liuyongcai, Alex-Raymond T. and 5 others like this!
As Michiel knows too well, I spend a lot of time trying to learn about PBR texturing for use in BluffTitler. I'm learning slowly but surely.
For speeding up the fairly extensive testing I do, I have created a BluffTitler show that I think might be of interest for The Community.
The media files are on the link down below. It contains three variants of my base test show and they are shown in the YouTube video.
The RAR.file is large as I've used high resolution textures. High resolution works best for seeing all the nuances when changing the parameters for the textures and the show. It takes a fair good graphics card but you can of course resample the textures to lower resolution.
_____________
The model is a very basic bevelled cube that I created. The textures are highly modified versions of one of the free textures that you can download at Gametextures.com

For modifying the texture maps, I use a free account for Quixel Mixer. Though Mixer is free, it's used by professional game designers. The setup and usage is fairly complicated as it can do pretty much anything you'd like for gaming graphics. You have to have a at least some sort of basic knowledge of PBR texturing to understand and use it.
I haven't touched but a few percent of the Mixer capabilities but I've set up a workflow where I work with Mixer and BluffTitler in parallel. I have both applications open at the same time. I do the textures and changes in Mixer, I then click on a button in Mixer that exports the texture maps to specific texture directories for the BluffTitler test shows, then click the reload button in BluffTitler and "Voilà", the results are shown immediately.
Quixel Mixer is here: quixel.com...
These shows contain two cubes. The left cube uses Normal texture mapping, the right cube uses Displacement mapping.
It would take a small book to describe all the combinations of the settings for these two cubes but best is of course empirical testing. Open the shows, play with the settings and you'll get a growing understanding of what can be done with multitexturing in BluffTitler. If you're good with raster software, play with the textures. Changing hue, lightness, contrast, etc. etc. will make for interesting results.

Nice textures and well used.
Same techniques work on text layers as well. This makes them immediately useful!
Don't forget the easy settings like the COLOUR and SPECULAR COLOUR props. And for the text layer, the font.

I've been thinking how to use your materials for intro videos.
Here's another idea: pasting the title onto the cube. I think the contrast between the shiny text and the rusty cube works really well. Thanks for the excellent materials!
