NextPreviousHomePre-define a BluffTitler show in the Right-Click context men

Here's a neat little Windows trick I've been using a lot lately. It's for saving time when testing UV mapping and multi-texturing in BluffTitler.

See the top half of the above image. You can add a pre-defined BluffTitler template show when using the right-click button context menu in a folder to create a new file of a certain file type. See this link, askvg.com...

For those of you are comfortable with using the Registry editor it's a lot easier than that. See the bottom of the above image.

Just go into the registry and add the keys as per the image.

Then go to C:\Windows\ShellNew and place whatever BluffTitler show you want to have as a template there. Name it according to what you used in the FileName Registry key.

Done.
________

When it comes to the BT-file you place in C:\Windows\ShellNew, make sure that the location references for your own custom textures, models etc. in the template are "hard coded" into "BLUFFTITLER.bt". I copied my four textures and the model-file to a subdirectory of C:\Windows\ShellNew and referenced them there when saving the BLUFFTITLER.bt show.

That can of course be done in many ways but for me this is the best way as the referenced files are "safe" in the ShellNew-directory and are not affected when I move and delete files in my regular testing directories.

If I understand correctly, you want a quick way to make a new pre-defined BluffTitler show. Right?

Why not load this pre-defined show in BluffTitler and save it under a new name? Doesn't this do the same?

I don't know but I have exactly what I want with the setup above, see the video. I want to create a predefined test show in the directory I am working in. Using the context menu setup is as easy as it can get AFAIC, one right-click and one left-click and you're done. When testing mesh and texturing work, I use this a couple of times every hour.
