I needed a good way to make "controlled" (placement, size, rotation etc.) 3D model gradients for this logo. That meant I finally had to get a hang of the fineries of UV texture mapping for 3D models which is more complicated than it looks at first. It made for a lot of studying and practical testing, I went through a bunch of methods and software and when the smoke finally cleared this morning it turned out that my modest needs were more than fulfilled by UVmapper that is already in Blufftitler since I don't know how long.

The UVmapper effect has the features I need and it keeps the workflow a lot simpler and less complicated than going the route of separate UV mapping software.
