NextPreviousHomeTo normalize or not to normalize 3D models

By default, when creating a new model layer, the 3D model is normalized: it is centred and scaled.

This makes it easier to switch models because they are all placed at the same position and have the same size.

However, when a bigger model must be built out of separate 3D models this is not what you want. For this reason, the 2nd dropdown of the model layer now features a NOT ALIGNED style. This style uses the positions as stored in the model file, without any scaling and translations.

It works best attaching all model layers to the same container layer.

Animate the container layer and fix the POSITION and ROTATION props of all model layers to (0,0,0).

Encore bravo Michiel ! La preuve de votre super efficacité !
Je viens de tester ce nouveau style sur l'avion et c'est magique. Que de temps gagné pour un résultat remarquable.

Merci.

Bravo Michiel again! Proof of your super efficiency!
