LostBoyz, Thor5ten, vincent and 12 others like this!
BluffTitler version 15.5, launched today, supports 3D models in the OBJ format.
This makes it easier to import models created in apps like, for example, Blender!
And because the OBJ format is so widely used, there's less need to convert models from stock sites.
The OBJ format stores its materials, colours and textures in a separate MTL file. Without this file, the model is untextured and fully white. Examples are the trumpet, head and dog in the foreground of the above screenshot.
Missing MTL files is so common that we decided not to present an error message. So make sure to include the MTL files when copying/distributing your OBJ files.

Supporting a new file format is not so much about logic, but rather about testing. On the screenshot you can see a selection of our test models.
Version 15.5 also introduces the new robotic arm layer:

You won't be able to do much with this new layer without a compatible robotic arm model (it requires joints). But we will soon launch BixPack 43 | ROBOTIC ARMS that explores the possibilities of this new layer and also offers a collection of ready to use robotic arms:

Version 15.5 adds a lot more new features, for example, try the new Special\WireframePlus effect.
More info about new and improved features follows in this community.
As always, the release notes can be found here:

Version 15.5 is a free upgrade from version 11 and higher.
When you enjoy this app and would like to support its future development, please consider buying another BixPack:

This greatly helps the project. Thank you 😘
A first quick test to welcome BluffTitler's new 3D function for OBJ files.
Grand Merci Michiel, c'est super ! et Bravo !

I tried a lot of models and everything seems to work well with .OBJ importation, on the other hand I could not try the ARM layer because I did not find a compatible model, not even in the default Models folder of BT, could we not have a basic model in this directory while waiting for a BixPack? Thank you.

Wow. Thnx Michiel. A lot of changes. I can't use them now, but in the weekend I can start explore the new additions.

Thank you all!
Realize that the MTL file only stores the links to the textures. The textures themselves are stored as separate files, like for example JPG or PNG files.
So when you have a 3D model in the OBJ format using 2 textures you need in total 4 files:
-1 OBJ file
-1 MTL file
-2 texture files
The MTL file is a simple text file so sometimes you can fix things by editing the MTL file in Notepad.
