misterbrains, sinus300, malvino and 5 others like this!
This example demonstrates how you can combine the Morphing\Plane2Roll.fx effect with the Animation\WavingFlag.fx effect.
The trick is to use 2 layers, one for every effect and use the TRANSPARENCY property to switch between them.
Thank you for the effort Michiel, but that is exactly what I tried and it has the same problem I encountered. The scroll rolls down ridged, then pauses and then goes into waving motion. I need this to be quick, smooth and one motion. The camera's going to move past the banners with a different athletes picture on each. The initial setup was just having the banners waving and let the camera pass, but I thought how cool it would be if each was released to unroll just as the camera approached. Only by combining the two effects would it look natural if that's possible.

A better way of explaining my dilemma using two separate images. Replace the flag in your example with a persons picture and imagine how the obvious the blur between the transitioning close up pictures would be on a screen that's 9ft high, 16ft wide.

I replaced the picture of the flag by a picture of a person and did not see a blur.
About your other remark, realize that a rolled up flag is more rigid. It does not wave as much as an unrolled flag.
