liuyongcai, chaver, Ulli and 2 others like this!
1 major and 1 minor technology upgrade in version 15.3.0.3:
BluffTitler now supports cascading shadow maps (CSM). This is an improved version of the simple shadow maps algorithm (SSM) as used in previous versions. It makes sharper shadows possible in bigger worlds, which is necessary for the planned Quadcopter BixPack where you fly over a huge landscape where everything, including the drone, trees and texts cast shadows over each other:

The shadow maps algorithm is not perfect (google on "shadow acne"), but has few design limitations and is most commonly used by games. It is now selected by default when you create a new show or light layer. For detailed info, visit the user guide:

BluffTitler now supports all common text file encodings:
-ANSI
-UTF-8
-UTF-16 LE
-UTF-16 BE
This way you no longer have to save your translation in a specific format to make it work. We now expect a tsunami of new translations:

Thank you all!
Franco, use the SHADOW INTENSTITY property of the light layer to turn on the shadows.

Franco, that's an artifact of the shadow maps algorithm. Google on "Peter Panning". Use the SHADOW MAP BIAS property to finetune the effect.

"planned Quadcopter"
Ah ha! I seen the FX in there, been looking everywhere for quadcopter/drone. Thinking I must have forgot or something. It's not there yet. Got it. But very excited for it to arrive.
