This video shows the building blocks (layers) used to make the nativity scene in the latest BixPack:
1) Sky: a skybox layer
2) Stable floor: a picture layer using a displacementmap
3) Stars: a few particle layers
4) Star of Bethlehem: a picture layer using the STAR style (1st dropdown) and the STAR property
5) Baby Jesus: a model layer using the Models/Avatar model, the Special/Avatar effect and a custom texture
6) Mary and all the other characters: also model layers using the same Avatar model and effect, but with different textures
7) Light: a point light layer positioned at Jesus
8) Shadows: using the SHADOW INTENSITY property of the light layer
9) Beams: an extra light layer using the BEAM properties
10) Text: 2 text layers

I hope this video helps understanding how the scene has been constructed. If you have questions, please ask!
@Michiel, very beautiful and wonderful!
How do light rays move?
Are there more light points?

Thank you Michiel for this very detailed and very well explained editing.

Thank you all!
Franco, the light rays move because the layer that is generating the light rays is moving/rotating. Play around with this installer show and you'll understand how light rays/beams work:

Ok, I watched the animation and saw that there is a star at the top that rotates, it's out of bounds so you only see the rays .... Thanks !!
The play of shadows and lights is very beautiful, even with lights with an additive effect on Jesus.

Verry nice!
Hello Michiel,
In the video of "How to build a nativity scene" I saw that you had the program interface in a different color. Is it possible that I can also change this for my program? That dark color is more beautiful than the standard white.
Thanks

Fonzie, unfortunately Windows does not (yet) come with a standard dark style.
Here's a discussion about this:
