liuyongcai, snafu, SparkyVegas and 6 others like this!
If you are beta testing the 64 bit version, could you please take an extra close look at this:
The following file types now have thumbnails:
-3D models (.X)
-Vector drawings (.EPS)
-Sketches (.EPS)
The thumbnails are used when:
-choosing LAYER > ADD LAYER > ADD MODEL LAYER...
-choosing LAYER > ADD LAYER > ADD VECTOR LAYER...
-choosing LAYER > ADD LAYER > ADD SKETCH LAYER...
-choosing EDIT > CHANGE ALL MODELS
-choosing EDIT > CHANGE ALL VECTORS
-choosing MEDIA > CHANGE MODEL
-choosing MEDIA > CHANGE VECTOR
-choosing MEDIA > CHANGE GLYPH
Right click on a thumbnail and choose DETAILS for extra info:
-2D/3D for vectors
-the number of polygons for 3D models
The first time you view a folder, the thumbnails are generated and stored in the thumbnails cache. This can take some time. But the next time you view the same folder, the thumbails are loaded from the cache and are immediately visible.
There are 2 ways to view the content of the cache:
-choose SETTINGS > OPTIONS..., select the INTERNET tab and take a look at the THUMBNAILS CACHE box
-press <Ctrl><F1> and select the CACHE tab
To clear the thumbnails cache:
-choose SETTINGS > OPTIONS.., select the INTERNET tab and click on the CLEAR button in the THUMBNAILS CACHE box
To turn off the thumbnails:
-mark the USE STANDARD WINDOWS FILE DIALOG checkbox in the SETTINGS > OPTIONS... dialog
That's a lot of info and a lot to test, but I hope the thumbnails will help using 3D models and vectors. It has been a revelation for me the first time I saw the thumbnail overview of my favorite model and vector folders!
Beta version 14.9.9.5 has been launched today. For more info visit:
I really like all this useful information and above all the previews allow you to load the desired model.
Thanks Michiel
