Ulli, shoji M, Tintin and 8 others like this!
The GLB format is wonderful, but they've forgotten one banal, but very practical thing: thumbnails. I'm sure it will be added in a next version, but until this fine day BluffTitler has to create the thumbnails itself.
When you choose LAYER > ADD LAYER > ADD MODEL LAYER..., a file dialog is presented that allows you to select a model file. But you have to wait until all the missing thumbnails have been created. This can take some time, especially when the models are big. And models are getting bigger and bigger...
To solve this, version 16.5.0.2 creates the thumbnails in the background (in a separate thread). This means that you can always immediately use the file dialog while the thumbnails are being created in the background. New thumbnails pop up once they have been generated. It works with all supported 3D models formats (.GLB, .OBJ, .STL and .X) and also for EPS files.
Choose SETTINGS > OPTIONS... and select the INTERNET AND CACHING tab. Here you can see the number of generated thumbnails, the total size and a button to clear them.
As always, the latest version can be downloaded from the download page:

Great Michiel.

Here's an interesting model to play around with. It has 764 nodes, 383 submodels, 71 joints, 23 textures (colour, normal, ORM and glow maps) and a 30 second animation with in total 85,397 keyframes, all perfectly rendered by BluffTitler! Yes, this animated 3D models thing is getting out of hand 😲😲😲

With this cache, it's much faster!

Sweet deal, Michiel. Loads super fast now. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
I used the model you found too. Just as an eye candy filler. Thank you.
