chaver, Rorysee, vincent and 5 others like this!
Next to glow, the latest beta also introduces support for ambient occlusion textures.
Ambient occlusion is a bit like shadows, but more about dark areas in sharp corners. Compare the 2 pictures and you'll understand what it's all about.
It's a complex technique, but thanks to the GLB format and BluffTitler it's now super easy to use: when your model features ambient occlusion textures, BluffTitler automatically loads the
AdvancedMaterials\ColourmapNormalmapCubemap effect that features an FX AMBIENT OCCLUSION FACTOR property. Setting this prop to 1 (or higher!) turns it on. That's it!
Not sure how common GLB models with ambient occlusion textures are, but here are 3 for you to play around with:

The latest beta can be downloaded from this page:
The GLB format does not support cube maps. But BluffTitler does!
The AdvancedMaterials\ColourmapNormalmapCubemap effect, that is automatically selected when your model features an occlusion map, accepts a cube map in its 3rd texture slot. For the screenshots on top of this page I placed the Cubemap.dds texture from the installer in this slot.
Choose MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE... to inspect and change the textures and the effect of the active layer:

For some reason, in the current beta, the FX AMBIENT OCCLUSION FACTOR prop defaults to 0. This will be set to 1 in the next beta.

Great! Michiel,
1) in FX Reflection factor it seems there are 2 different ranges : 0-1 and 1-2, there is no continuity from 0 to 2 is there a reason ?
2 ) In which case Border size can be used ?

The new features are really overwhelming! And the fourth material slot is a small revolution for BT.

Vincent, setting the FX REFLECTION FACTOR to 2 makes the metallic parts extra bright. Here's a comparison.
The model used is:

Vincent, the FX BORDER SIZE prop is only useful when the effect is applied to a picture layer.
