I was messing around in a paint app trying to create something of a lightening texture when I realized it can be generated much easier in BluffTitler. And with animation!
In this show, the colourmap texture is generated by a colourmap layer (layer 10):
outerspace-software.com...
And the cubemap is generated by a cubemap layer (layer 6):

To change the colours, edit the props COLOUR 1 and COLOUR 2 of particle layers 12, 13 and 14:

To examine the generated textures, press <F2>. This way they are rendered in the upper right.
