Here's something we wanted to add for a long time: glow!

Model layer

The GLB 3D model format supports glow, so this gives us an easy way to add, test and have fun with glow!

Glowing elements are now recognized and automatically rendered:

The model in the screenshot can be downloaded here:
sketchfab.com...

Global glow settings

Use the GLOW INTENSITY, GLOW RANGE and GLOW COLOUR properties of the camera layer to fine-tune the effect:
outerspace-software.com...

Not only model layers

When the model does not have glowing parts, mark the GLOW checkbox in the LAYER > ACTIVE LAYER PROPERTIES... dialog.

This also works great with lightning layers, text layers and particle layers!

Public beta

We are currently optimizing and fine-tuning the glow effect. If you're interested, a public beta can be downloaded from this page:

Thank you!

To boost the glow effect, I've used the following settings:

Camera layer:
-Set the GLOW INTENSITY prop to 2
-Set the GLOW RANGE prop to 100

Model layer:
-Set the SPECULARITY prop to 0.98
-Set the FX LIGHTING FACTOR prop to 1
-Set the FX NORMAL STRENGTH prop to 2
-Place the Cubemap.dds texture from the installer in the 3rd texture slot

COOL COOL COOL

But

Too bad you can only see it under the 3d setting in Space.
Which I would also find better if you could set everything layer by layer and not all via the camera settings. I mean Glow Intensity and Range.
In some GLB I see no Fx Lighting Factor and or Fx Normal Strength in the Settings?

-Place the Cubemap.dds texture from the installer in the 3rd texture slot
Where can I found the Cubemap.dds in a GLB File?

sorry for my Questions and sorry for my Bad English

Is there a way to turn off the glow?
The reason I ask is because I went to try the glow on Hush The Bat and it glows like mad crazy, overkill. I tried putting everything on zero less intensity, or no intensity. But it wasn't working.

I think this effect is great and I understand how it works.
I find it very nice to use comfortable and easy.

So a big round of applause.

My question, for @Michiel, if I were to draw a model with a software for example Blender,
What makes the Glow turn on automatically?
Is it the "Emission" parameter, or have I not understood anything? Thanks, sorry if the question doesn't directly concern BluffTitler, but having programmed it you surely know what it refers to in the GLOW model.

Thank you very much for these continuous updates with ever more incredible features!!

jolosan64, mark the GLOW checkbox in the LAYER > ACTIVE LAYER PROPERTIES... dialog.

Sven, those properties are moved to the camera layer to save precious texture memory and increase render speed. With the GLOW property of the model layer you can make adjustments for that specific layer

The FX LIGHTING FACTOR and FX NORMAL STRENGTH properties are part of the AdvancedMaterials\ColourmapNormalmapCubemap effect. This effect is only selected when your model features a normal map or an ORM map.

The GLB model format does not support cube maps. It's a BluffTitler trick to add such a texture to spice up the looks. The AdvancedMaterials\ColourmapNormalmapCubemap effect expects a cube map in the 3rd texture slot. The Cubemap.dds texture comes with the installer. You can find it in the BluffTitler/Media/Textures folder.

Decentralized, set the GLOW property of the model layer to a lower value.

Franco, yes emission and glow is the same thing.

Nice option, thanks!

Thank you Michiel. That works perfectly. I didn't notice that in the drop box, I see it now. Thanks again.

very nice Michiel. lets have a crack at it

Just realized you can set the Glow to go with the beat in the layer VJ properties. Set the model glow on a lower value, and put the sensitivity on like 3 or something.

Cool Christmas tree :)

Nice tree LostBoyz, but it could use a bit more glow ✨😉✨✨

Here's a comparison: Sketchfab.com, Microsoft 3D viewer and BluffTitler!

Clearly the most beautiful in the BT! 😊
