vadroulle, PAT67, SparkyVegas and 10 others like this!
In the Effects\Filters folder of the latest version (14.1.0.1) you can find the new JigsawPuzzle effect.
Apply it to a picture layer and animate it with the FX WIPE STAGE property.
The 2nd texture controls the appearance order of the puzzle pieces.
And the 3rd texture can be used as the background picture.
The installer comes with an example:
BluffTitler\Media\Shows\Picture\Puzzle.bt
Other new features of version 14.1.0.1:
-Characters property EPS layer is now 2D. The 2nd slider controls the number of lines.
-new effect: Special\ClipAdditive
-minor bug fixes
The shape of the pattern is procedurally generated. By adjusting the properties you can produce things like this.
In this example, the 3rd texture slot is used for the background picture.

Michiel is the Boss !!!! But I am going to annoy him all the same with a question : Do you think it would be possible that explosion (prop) uses pieces as debris ? Thanks again

Vincent, for 2D puzzles, I think, a filter effect like this works best.
For a 3D version, Rorysee's font solution works excellent:

And yes, a general explosion system with a jigsaw preset would be wonderful!

Lightads, this effect uses 2 puzzle piece shapes, with variants for the edges and corners.

Sorry I meant what slider adjustment do you use to make you pieces come together randomly
lightads, 6 years ago
The FX WIPE STAGE property.
The 2nd texture controls the appearance order of the puzzle pieces. A brighter pixels means that the puzzle piece at that position is placed at a later time. Open this texture in a paint app and you'll understand how it works.
