Tintin, Ulli, Alex-Raymond T. and 10 others like this!
Some of you have asked for QR codes with a hole in the centre where you can place a logo.
The interesting truth is that the QR standard does NOT feature such a style!!! What it does feature is error correction: when part of the picture is dirty, blurry or invisible, it can still be read because the information is stored multiple times. This system can be abused/hacked by deliberately adding errors, like for example placing your logo in the centre.
You can experiment with this yourself by editing a QR code in a paint app and testing the result with your QR reader app. You will be amazed how much you can delete!
To automate this, BluffTitler version 15.6.0.1 features a HOLE checkbox in the QR dialog.
This dialog is displayed in 3 situations:
-when you click on the QR button in the MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE... dialog
-when you click on the QR button in the MEDIA > CHANGE VECTOR... dialog
-when you click on the QR button in the MEDIA > CHANGE GLYPH... dialog
The show of the screenshot comes with the latest installer:
Picture\QR_Picture2.bt
More examples can be found in the Picture and Vector folders.
Notice that there's no dedicated QR code layer. Instead it's implemented as a QR button in the MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE..., MEDIA > CHANGE VECTOR... and MEDIA > CHANGE GLYPH... dialogs. This way it can easily be used in all layer types that support textures and/or vectors. For example:
-create a waving QR code with the waving flag layer
-texture your model layer with a QR code
-use a QR code as a mirror with the mirror layer
Thank you for your requests. Version 15.6.0.1 can now be downloaded from the download page:
Wow, this way you can personalize the Qr-code.
Thnx Michiel!

Michiel, once again you exceed expectations especially doing this over the holiday period. Just a small aside is it possible to have 2 lines of text in the QR code, or would that require a great deal of work? Seasons greetings John

Thank you all!
Pioneer, maybe we only have to make the textbox multiline. Thank you for your request.
