Hi Michiel, is it possible to add a GLOW MAP slot (Pic 1) on following Effects ?

- UVModifier.cfx
- UVMapper.cfx
- Cartoonmap.cfx
- ColourmapDisplacementmapCubemap.cfx
- ColourmapDisplacementmapReflectionmap.cfx
- ColourmapNormalmapCubemap.cfx
- ColourmapNormalmapReflectionmap.cfx

And add the Glow parameter automatically (Pic 2) when there is a texture in the GLOW MAP slot.

The following 2 effects already explicitly support a glow map:
AdvancedMaterials\ColourmapDisplacementmapCubemap
AdvancedMaterials\ColourmapDisplacementmapReflectionmap

Although the AdvancedMaterials\Cartoonmap efects does not say it supports a glow map, it does work. Simply place your glow map in the 5th texture slot.

Many other effects also implicitly support glow maps. But not all. For example it does not work for the AdvancedMaterials\UVModifier effect because it adjusts the UV coordinates. Morphing effects, like for example the Picture\Plane2Donut effect, also do not work. There's no danger in trying things out so feel free to experiment.

Adjusting the brightness of the glow map does the same as the GLOW prop of the model layer.

Ok thank you michiel, if i understand, if the glowmap works on an effect it must always be placed in Slot 5 whether it is titled GLOW MAP or Texture 5 ?

Yes, the glow map must always be placed in the 5th texture slot.

When loading a 3D model this is done fully automatically: the glow immediately works without having to do anything.

Thor5ten, the AdvancedMaterials\PBR effect supports a normal map in the 2nd and a glow map in the 5th texture slot.

This is the preferred effect for models:
