songbaojin, Ilja, LostBoyz and 8 others like this!
Here's our first YouTube Shorts video. With download!
The 3D models are not included, but can be downloaded here:
sketchfab.com...
sketchfab.com...
The 3D models end up in the Windows downloads folder and BluffTitler extracts its textures to the BluffTitler temp folder (as set in the SETTINGS > OPTIONS... dialog).
BluffTitler 16.1.0.4 is smart enough to find them there, so if you want to prevent the annoying "Could not find file" dialogs, update to this latest version:
outerspace-software.com...
The big head, hands and shoes are done with the following props:
SX ...head_07
SX ...foot_l_076
SX ...foot_r_083
SX ...hand_l_026
SX ...hand_r_051
No idea what those numbers mean, but that's what the model designer typed.
The sombrero and text are attached to the head. And Bix is attached to the right hand. Here's how to do that:
outerspace-software.com...
Bix is painted on the t-shirt by using a colour map layer:
outerspace-software.com...
The model (layer 7) is pointing to this colour map layer in the MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE... dialog.
Press <F2> to see the content of the colour map layer. This also shows the shadow maps and the glow map.
The installer has a simple demo explaining this technique:
Colourmap\DynamicModelTexture.bt
The video is uploaded in portrait format to make it look good on phones. Choose FILE > SET SHOW RESOLUTION... to switch to landscape to make it look good on desktops.
Download the show file here:
Great job on the short, looks fantastic, Michiel.

Michiel den Outer is the founder and lead coder of Outerspace Software. He lives in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
If he isn't busy improving BluffTitler, he is playing the piano or rides the Dutch dikes on his bikes.
