Ulli, irina1208, michiel and 2 others like this!
here is the result by adding a thickness to the video.
I inserted it into a colourmap and added the thickness effect on the layer.
This was a test for a friend who couldn't turn on the alpha channel
So it's just proof I didn't have to win an award, the video skips because it's more
short of the animation.
Great art.

Happy to see your transparent video can now be imported!
Have you tried applying Picture\ExtrudePicture effect to the video layer? This should colour the sides and also follow the shape of the non-transparent parts of your video.

@Michiel
The extrude effect is applied on the layer but the video is in the colormap to remove the background using the alpha effect. Or was there another way to proceed?
However, I used the webm video because even after removing the errors I can't view GoPro CineForm, perhaps it's a problem with how Davinci Resolve exports.

Why do you use a colour map layer?
And what do you mean with "the alpha effect"? I searched my system but failed to find Alpha.cfx.

The effect is in AlphaTreshold filters otherwise the background remains opaque for me.
Should it automatically recognize the alpha channel of the video?
Franco Aversa, 5 months ago
Do you mean the AlphaThreshold effect in the Effects\Filters folder? This effect makes the pixels transparent that are darker than a certain value (the "threshold"). That's something totally different than using the alpha channel of the video file.
Still puzzled why you are using a colour map layer.
When you send a test video we can take a look at it.
