Hello everybody.
I want to play a video within the show, but the video layer plays in a loop.
What if I want to start playing a video at some point during the show?
This is not possible in the current version. Thank you for your request!
I advise you to export your titles with an alpha channel (mark the INCLUDE ALPHA CHANNEL checkbox in the FILE > EXPORT AS VIDEO... dialog) and do the mixing in your video editor. This is how this looks like in Vegas:

I would like to play a video using a colormap layer instead of an embedded image within a show. I think my show could be completed if the video layer had the ability to pause the video.
Consider Thank you.

No need to use a colour map layer, you can simply replace the picture by a video in the MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE... dialog. The SELECT TEXTURE... button accepts pictures and video files so you can easily switch.
In the current version, all videos always loop and always start playing from the beginning of the show. As a workaround maybe you could create a specially prepared video with the same duration as the show.

I've also been waiting for this feature as I use video in my shows.
As a workaround, I note when I want the video to start playing then edit the video clip with an long blank leader. This unfortunately will use more memory so only add the video before you your final render.

@lightads
I think I have a similar problem with scroll layers. Even if I select "Display once" for the scroll layer and adjust the scroll speed, I cannot start scrolling at any point.
As michiel says, you can export only the scroll layer and composite it in Vegas, but it requires repeated corrections and is quite a hassle, so I move the position of the text layer.
lightads, are you having the same problem with scroll layers as you do with video layers?

@aki I don't worry about the scroller layer and didn't notice any timing issues.
The timed video play option would be a well needed feature to be included.

Realize that you can also create a scroller with a text layer by animating its POSITION prop. This is not as easy as the scroller layer, but gives you full control.

@Michiel
I also think you can fully control the animation with the text layer's POSITION property. However, it takes more time to set up than scrolling through layers.
I believe that if the functionality that I and ï¼ lightads want is added to the scroll layer, we won't need the detailed control of the text layer.What do you think?

Aki, when you want to make sure your viewers do not miss a specific text, I think the scroller layer is not the right choice. Not even when it starts scrolling at the right position. Viewers do not read texts in a scroller as thoroughly as you might think. If the text is super important, I would always use a text layer. Make sure the text is clearly visible and readable, preferably standing still, at least at one significant moment during the show.

Michiel would it be possible to add a slider on the video = hold on frame 1= we can then key to 0 when we want the video to play. some of the older particle aps worked this way when importing a video clip and you wanted the clip to start play at a specific point on the timeline.

Aki. What i do with video clips for BT in Sony Vegas is add a solid grey color event to the track and select the exact time you want the video to play then add your video clip and render out. In BT the grey will be a marker and allow you to position your clips. so example at 0:45 the sequence for the panels is one video clip from vegas and runs to the end. the vegas timeline clip set out the transitions in BT

Thank you for your good advice on video creation.
I sometimes use Blufftitler to post videos to my Instagram Reels. My Instagram is not for making money, but for my followers to see my two dogs.
I thought that by scrolling the comment section into the video, people who saw my Instagram wouldn't have to open the comment section.
michiel said that the scrolling layers in the video are not carefully read. I think that's true, but if you're watching a video to get specific information, I think the scrolling text will be read carefully.
I think it would be useful if the video layer had a function to start/pause playback in order to create explanatory text with a scroll layer when displaying several photos in sequence, or to play multiple videos in sequence. I did.
This is my dog's Instagram, so it's not a video that I carefully calculate as Rorysee says.
I want to create videos easily, easily, and quickly.
I think Blufftitler is a good app for creating short videos. Moreover, you can intuitively create 3D text and use various effects even without basic knowledge of Blender.
When using Blufftitler, I think it is important to carefully calculate and create it, but I also think that ``easy, simple, and quick'' is also an important factor.
We know that Blufftitler continues to evolve with various features being added one after another. And I am confident that it will continue to be so.

yes we all agree. it would be a huge help if wehad a video play start point.

Rorysee, do you agree that your video can be done by creating the video overlay with alpha channel in BluffTitler and mixing it with the video background in Vegas?
