it is possible to automatically center the pivot of an object
What do you mean with "object"?
The model layer features a PIVOT POINT property. Its default value is (0, 0, 0). This means the centre of the 3D model, so its centred by default.
Press <F2> to visualize the pivot point position.
Click on the RESET button to switch to the default value. This works for all props.
