I have a bunch of DDS files and am using IrfranView as my default image viewer but IrfranView doesn't display DDS files. What viewer do people use?

Bixorama can view them.
But also not sure if this will help.
You can use this website to covert DDS to PNG
Edit the PNG if you want, use the same website to convert back to DDS

I was thinking that if Bluff could make a viewer like they have for a thumbnail for viewing BT files.
Maybe a feature request?

The FastPictureViewer codec pack supports the DDS format. After installing this pack, all apps using the Windows Imaging Component (WIC) can open DDS files. Windows uses it to render its thumbnails. Maybe IrfranView also uses it.

BluffTitler has native DDS support, so it does not need this codec.

IrfanView does in fact read it after opening it. Is there a way to generate thumbnails for DDS is what I should be asking?

On my system, Windows renders thumbnails for DDS files. I always thought this was done by the codec from the FastPictureViewer pack, but maybe I'm wrong.

Here's another codec, from NVIDIA, you can try:
