I tried to make a timed particle burst and a correct movement.
This is my test show, anyone knows how to time the particles right and get the right flow and fade out?

Not easy to control particles

Merci pour tes particules dorées, ton partage vaut de l'or. Bonne & Heureuse Année 2022, remplie de joies et de bonheur.

Nice concept!

I think it can be simplified: the same can be done with only a single particle layer. Here's how I would do it:

Make all particle layers invisible, except layer 10: unmark the VISIBLE checkbox for layers 4, 5, 8 and 9

Go to layer 10
Set the time to 3 seconds
Delete all keys: hold down the <Shift> key and click on the DELETE KEY button

Launch the particles upwards: set the LAUNCH DIRECTION prop to (72, -10, 90). This corrects the rotation of the parent layer

Make the particles fall downwards: set the GRAVITY prop to (0, -100, 0)

Increase the lifetime: set the LIFETIME prop to 8

Make them bounce less on the mirror: set the BOUNCING prop to 0.1

To start and stop the particles, create 4 keyframes:
At 0.500: set the EMISSION prop to 0
At 1.000: set the EMISSION prop to 600
At 3.000: set the EMISSION prop to 600
At 4.000: set the EMISSION prop to 0

With only a single particle layer it's easier to adjust and finetune the show. It also solves the discontinuities.

Another idea that came out from under ... gold bars! 🤩 Thank you Filip, and Michiel for the refining beyond 18 carats! 😁
