When I change the "Background color" (top slider) in the drop down properties of Layer8 - Colormap in BluffTitler\Media\Shows\Plasma\PlasmaAsDisplacementmap2.bt show,
the plasma in layer10 rises upwards.
Is this normal?
Yes this is normal.
The colourmap is used as a displacementmap. A brighter colour means more displacement, so when you use a brighter colour, the mountain rises up.

To change the background colours of the show, edit the colours of the other plasma layer: layer 3.
