is possible create an effect that the camera focus is automatically set on a layer. Thus it could be used to move an invisible object which by moving adjusts the focus of the camera. Moving this layer along an object would result in focusing. Inserting this layer into a container with the object to be kept in focus would result in automatic focusing on this object.
practically the "focus DOS range" parameters can be adjusted to the position of this object or layer.

Use the Camera target layer and set the target layer value on the layer number of the invisible object?

I would like to change the focus without the camera moving, as if manually acting on the "nearest - farthest" value of the focus, but automatically on a level.

Why don't you turn your example into a template? It won't take much. Replace the Arial font, rename "NEW" and add a beginning and end is probably enough:
