When I use the rorypuz font and I use the UvMapper.cfx to texturemap a photo onto the pieces I observed an strange phenomenon:
When the pieces are rotated, twisted, moved, jumbled the texture stays on the seperate pieces, and that's what we want isn't it.
BUT when we ad more spacing or use space width the pieces are moving but the texture slides over the pieces. This is not what I expected.
Who can help me out? Michiel???
yes Filip . the work around is to limit the vertical and horizontal text spacing displacement. everything else works well.
the workflow for me is to animate all the pieces and then lastly add the uv map = all keys size and position.
the tricky bit is that the flexibility is the main animation tool because this can make the pieces come in one at a time or as in a flow. the default is always selected so you have to make sure that with every motion this is not selected .
BTW i am working on a better font hopefully that will be able to add blank spaces. and also clean up the pieces = less nodes etc. I am new to font making in fact the puzzle font was my first so had to get my head around that app first

so for example flexibility settings = pace for individual pieces

The Special\UVMapper effect uses the position relative to the layer centre to compute the texture position.
As a result, texturing stays the same when you move (TEXT POSITION prop) or rotate (TEXT ROTATION prop) the layer.
But when you change the spacing in a text layer (SPACING prop), the relative positions change and as a result the UVMapper effect updates the texture positions. The same is true for the TWIST, JUMBLE and other props.

Thnx Rorysee and Michiel. I think I understand (but I'm not happy).
Nice show Rorysee. You are obvious a pro and a realy creative person.
I'm more a trial and error person who sees something and the try to recreate it and give it my own twist.

Filip we can all learn from each other...you have something to teach and i have something to learn from you . so your own twist is exactly what I need. So thanks for that.
