in the sketch layer is possible set the profile as a star or other figures, is possible select a typeface, so a text can extrude along the sketch ?
in this way, extruded texts can be obtained along a path.

Have you already experimented with the VERTICALLY REVOLVED text layer style? (3rd dropdown below the textbox).
The effect can be finetuned with the REVOLVED ANGLE property.
