I have the new templates Bixpack 18.
What I don't understand is how the cubemap layer works in 03_Balls3.

Can anybody explain this in layman's terms.

My sphere stays black

The cubemap layer can be a bit confusing because it does not render anything. It only creates a texture in memory that other layers can use.

Have you already read this info in the user guide:

Filip, do you know how to use a cubemap texture?

The installer comes with 2 examples:
-Textures/CubeMap.DDS
-Textures/CubeMap_RedRoom.DDS

Instead of using a cubemap from a texture file, BluffTitler can also use a cubemap generated by a cubemap layer. To do that click on the SELECT CUBEMAP button in the MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE... dialog.

You can find demos in the Shows\Cubemap folder.

Michiel when I use a cubemap layer and get a picture (picture style sphere)
and the first texture the cubemap. The sphere turns black and not silver. It mirrors the added text.

Your sphere turns black with only a mirrored image of your text because there's nothing else in your world.

Most of the demo shows in the Shows\Cubemap folder fix this by adding a horizon. Take a look at those shows to learn how it's done.

Thank you Michael. The horizon did it.
Don't understand why it not worked when I tried it the first time when I used the horizon. Maybe the style setting wasn't right.
