Guys I've asked how to create them before and every time I look at software that can create EPS files, I simply don't understand the concept behind it I guess. I was wondering if one of you guys ((((CM!!!))) would mind giving a walk through demonstation on how to create them. PhotoShop has an EPS save as option, but that doesn't work for BT and another program I tried (can't remember the name) was all script work that I'm not familure with.
Here's how I use Potrace:
Having to type a command line everytime you want to convert a picture is not very efficient. What you have to do is to create a batch file:
1) Open Notepad
2) enter the following line: potrace -c -q d:\temp\test.bmp
3) save this file as convert.bat and place it next to potrace.exe
Now when you double click this batch file the file d:\temp\test.bmp will be converted into d:\temp\test.eps. So all you have to do is to save your logo as d:\temp\test.bmp and double click the batch file. Easy!
You can name this batch file anything you like, as long as it has the .bat extension.
Also the source path doesn't have to be d:\temp\test.bmp. It can be anything you like, as long as it has the .bmp extension.
Make sure the bmp file is a simple black on white picture and BluffTitler will happily load the EPS file!

That's close to the instructions I had before, but this time IT WORKED! Sweet! I noticed when I clicked on the convert.bat file, a command prompt window would flash, but too fast to read. Just for chit and giggles, I print screened as soon as it flashed so I could read it and notice it said "directory not found". Thing was, the command line was incomplete. I place Potrace in my "C:/Program Files" directory and Potrace couldn't read the space between "Program" and "Files" I guess. It said "directory not found in "C:/Program". I move the whole Potrace folder to the base Windows directory and it worked just fine.
Thanks

Hey Michiel,
I know that if the EPS file is too complex BT won't open it, but does the number of EPS files matter? For example if I wanted to create a US map seperating each state as an independent file.

If you dont want to go through the hassle of creating your own batch file I am using a program called "BMP 2 EPS" to create the EPS files. 123 you are done.
I wonder if anyone knows which program produces the least jaggies though?
