ReflectiveFloor_GradientReflection.fx (as found in the media/effects/compositions folder) is one of my favorite effects: reflectionmapping without a reflectionmap!!!
This effects generates a gradient and uses this gradient as the reflectionmap, so no need for a texture.
To use this effect:
1) press the CHANGE EFFECT...button and select Compositions/ReflectiveFloor_GradientReflection.fx
2) play around with the properties
This example uses a black text (the COLOUR prop is set to (0,0,0) and the 2 FX colour props are also very dark) against a white background (the COLOUR props of the plasma layer are very bright) but of course nothing is stopping you from using a totally different colour scheme. How about a caribbean sunset?
