NextPreviousHomeSmoke and green screen

I created a green background for green screen with BluffTitler. I want to create black steam clouds. But if I want to hide the green background afterwards, you can no longer see any of the smoke or it also turns slightly green. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to change?

Instead of a green screen, I would use an alpha channel: mark the INCLUDE ALPHA CHANNEL checkbox in the FILE > EXPORT AS VIDEO... dialog.

Yes but the Avi File is to Big and MP4 doesn‘t have Alpha

When the transparent video is not the final product, and in my case it never is, the size of the video is irrelevant. For maximum quality, all my temporary videos are uncompressed.

When the final product must contain transparency, use the QuickTime MOV format: it supports compression and transparency.

Please tell me how you export your videos. In which format with which codec in which resolution.

Thanks Sven

Sven, this depends on the project, but I typically use uncompressed for temporary files and MP4 for the final product.

I tried it once. The problem is really that the Avi file is then 6gb in size and the Quick Time Mov file is 2 Gb in size. If I compress and reduce the whole thing afterwards under Wondershare, the transparency is gone again. Too bad it doesn't work.

The MOV format supports different codecs and profiles. In the DRIVERS tab of the SETTINGS > OPTIONS... dialog you can select 3 MOV codecs and 6 MOV profiles. I'm sure Wondershare offers those as well. Some support transparency, others don't. And the ones that do might not be supported by your player/NLE. I advise you to do some experiments to find the combination that works for you.

Alternatives to the MOV format for getting an Alpha Channel are Huffyuv and the Grass Valley HQX Codec (which is awesome).
