The latest template pack offers 30 (+10 bonus!) Moon templates. Fly in low Moon orbit over the Aristarchus crater, experience Earthrise and visit the Apollo landing sites. Play around with the high resolution colour and displacementmaps of the Moon and the Earth!
The colour and displacement maps have been created by NASA with their Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) spacecraft. The original, public domain, texture used is an 8 GB 92.160 x 46.080 TIFF file: astrogeology.usgs.gov...
To render this on an average PC in BluffTitler, we've scaled it down to a 46 MB 8.192 x 4.096 PNG. More post processing was necessary to fix discontinuities.
A cut out in the same resolution, but with a bigger scale, has been created around the Aristarchus crater to make the low Moon orbit shows possible (using the SPHERE CAP style of the picture layer).
Daytime on the Moon means a bright surface and a pitch dark sky. At nighttime it's the opposite, so you can never see a bright moon and bright stars in the same picture. BluffTitler is not about scientific simulations, so we've taken our artistic freedom with bright colourful nebulae!
This was something I wanted to do for a long time. Thank you all for making this possible!
Click on the screenshots for more info and a nice introduction discount.
Have fun playing with the new templates!
Earth rise has always been a favorite of mine..... along with the little blue dot photo that Cassini took.
Got the Moon pack and it's very nice..... thank you
