MrGruntHunter, SparkyVegas and vincent like this!

When I want to reorganize my textures folder the old shows give a warning that there are textures missing.

Future request:
Is there a possibility for BluffTitler to ask if you want to relink the texture from another folder?

I had asked for this possibility too. could be very useful in some cases.

Textures and other media files are stored relative to the show file. But only if they are stored in the same, or a lower folder than the show folder. So a good practice is to store them in a subfolder of the show folder. All BixPacks use this system. This makes them painless to install.

Saving a show with FILE > SAVE SHOW + ALL MEDIA FILES... uses the same system.

I worry a "try this folder if a texture can't be found" option is going to be very confusing. And also too limited if they are scattered all over your system. I have never seen such a system in another app. Can you give a good example?

Not sure if this is helpful, or related, but I remember something similar back in the old Amiga O/S days.
Could BT use some sort of user defined "search path" that directs BT shows to start looking for textures (or whatever) in the relative show file, but then look elsewhere based on the user's configuration if not first found in the show file?

I found this at:

wiki.amigaos.net...

Search Path

When using the Shell, the Amiga must know where to look for the commands you want to use. The Shell has a search path, which allows you to enter commands without providing the full path. The search path is a series of directories that AmigaDOS searches to find commands that are entered without paths.

The default search path includes the current directory, C:, and several other directories specified in the standard Startup-sequence. You can add other directories in which you keep frequently-used programs by using the PATH command or by using multiple assignments with the ASSIGN command. There is, however, a significant difference between these two methods. Directories added to the search path with the PATH command are local to the Shell in which you added them and to any sub-Shells launched from that Shell. Directories added through multiple assignments with the ASSIGN command are global to the whole system.

When you enter something in the Shell, AmigaDOS looks through the directories in the search pth for a command of that name. It searches the directories in the order they appear in the path until it either finds the command or reaches the end of the path list. When a command cannot be found in any of the search path directories, the Shell displays an Unknown command message, as illustrated in Figure 3-2.

Michiel, Vegas uses this

I confirm, it exists on other apps, it can be done in ProShow Gold and ProShow Producer.

Michiel, Powerdirector also has the ability to ignore or browse for a missing file. Click on browse and the second window opens to search.

Thanks so much for all your effort to make Bluff such a great program... and to all, have a Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the screenshots!

Realize that after loading the show, the missing texture can be fixed by selecting the layer and choosing MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE...

Asking when loading is just more secure to prevent omissions when a show have a lot of layers but of course and fortunately we can replace missing objects with Media\Change menu.
