I was really impressed with the tutorial
"3D Simulation from Still Image" by JimH on June 25th 2008

outerspace-software.com...

I really think there should be a tutorial on how the tutorial was made (that really really impressed me).

A tutorial on this technique(2D to 3D) has been covered by Andrew Kramer - of Video CoPilot fame - using After Effects.

But JimH did an artful job using Bluff Titler. I would very much like to see this technique demonstrated again with a different scene & a more detailed explaination of the procedure (so I don't have to waste hours figuring out the do's and don'ts). With the updates between June 2008 and today I'm pretty sure it should be bit easier to animate.

If any of you Pros' out there can help a novice I'd really appreciate it. I guess my biggest deficiency is effectively moving the camera.

Thanks guys
Thanks

Thanks for the comments muffasaxx. You're correct in that the envelope feature might make things a bit easier depending on what the scene is. But mostly it's a matter of creating the transparent PNG files and arranging them in Bluff. Then using the camera to zoom and pan across the image. The video bits were created with Bluff and edited together in sony vegas pro. I don't have time now to create a how to on the how to, but would happily answer any specific questions you have.

Hey JimH,

Thanks for responding and once again job well done. I have some time this weekend and I'll work on my camera moves.

If I come up with something decent I'll report back and post it on youtube. I hope to one day become a contributor too.

I know Michiel is proud of your creativity, Keep up the good work.
