my blufftitler has a backgraund on exporting to pinnacle and i did export has transparency
It works fine for me using uncompressed avi in Studio 12 Plus. Also works in Studio 11. S9 cannot handle avi's with transparency.
Are you using a version that supports avi with transparency? Are you absolutely sure you outputted the correct format? Are you putting your video on the overlay track?

i am using studio11 but i was expecting my out put to be like the sample in the video tutor that came with blufftitler, my file is in avi

You can check the alpha channel of your AVI file by loading this file into BluffTitler by choosing LAYER / ADD LAYER / ADD VIDEO LAYER...
BluffTitler has no problems playing uncompressed and Huffyuv compressed transparent AVIs.
Add a plasma background (press the ADD PLASMA LAYER... button) for a colourful background.
