Hello,
I downloaded some template this afternoon, and some of them use effects with non european characters. The effect is present in the zip file, but the decoding is not done correctly, and when opening the show, I have an error "could not open effect xxx".
Of course, I have the name of the effect which cause trouble, and then I can rename it. But unfortunately, I do not know WHERE this effect is used (in which layer).
Is there a possibility to know this ?
Thanks,
DV FX
A common error is to double click on the zip file and double click on the show file in the resulting window. When you do this only the show file is unzipped and all the media files including the textures and effects are not yet unzipped resulting in "could not find" error messages. What you have to do is to unzip all files before opening the show file.
In case this does not work and you have downloaded the template from this gallery it works best to post your question as a comment to the gallery article. This way we immediately know which template your are refering to. This makes it much easier to help you.

Hello Michiel,
The problem is not with a specific show. Whatever the show, the question is generic: if I have an error message telling me that an effect could not be opened, how could I know WHERE the effect is used please ?
Thanks,
DV FX
PS: the show are decompressed and the problem is not with ZIP.

So when you open something you get an error message saying "could not open something"?
:)
I'm sure the mystery had already been solved when you had posted your question as a comment to one of the templates stating the exact and full error message.
