Hi,
I have created a PNG file that has a black-white gradient.
If I use "Lightened.fx" the transparent information will be shown as white surface (it should be transparent there).
In the past I used effects from the installer to get black information to transparent. No problem so far!
But I was wondering why transparent information appears white in BT …
How do I get the transparent information back that there only leaves the white part of the image???

Hi John, If I understand your question. Your .png file doesn't contain any transparency information... only a black to white gradient. correct?
You'll need to use one of the additive fx to get the dark area to produce transparency.

I'll have another try:
I have created a PNG file that has a black to transparency gradient, but BluffTitler only shows my gradient as black to white.
The white colour shouldn't be existing ─ it should be transparent there …
Yes, I have used additive effects also, but I only get the gradient on the text (I didn't apply the effect on the text: I used picture layer and I wanted to put the picture in the background. I hoped to reach a smooth effect.
My show has a red background and my text is white with dds map. I wanted to put the black to transparent picture behind my text that I get a smoother look.)

John, why don't you upload your PNG to this gallery so we can all play around with it?

John, try the "NotLightened_Subtractive.fx" That should make the white area transparent.

I have uploaded a new show that shows the same issue.
The black circle should have a gradient (see original file).
If you set Ambient Light to 255,255,255 you can see the shape.
I am afraid BluffTitler can't handle this file?
