Hi, I'm fairly new to BLufftitler and I was hoping somebody could explain how (or if) I can change the color of the .eps shapes in one of the templates. I'm trying to make an intro for a slideshow of my daughter's team. The shape (which I to the best of my understanding is initially black) is red in the template - The Sports pack Arena template to be precise - and I'd like to know how I can change it to green. I'm fairly certain I've attempted to change every available value...with the exception of the one that will do what I want.
Thanks in advance for any help you're able to provide...
Make the EPS layer the active layer.
In the dropdown, where the text position ad other properties are located ... find the COLOUR property.
When you move the sliders for the COLOUR property, your EPS shape should change colour.

Strange, when I tried that the first time, it seemed to affect how bright it was, but it always remained a shade of red. Seems to be working now. Thank you for the help!

Ok, so in some portions of the template it changes the color, but in others it simply changes the shade of red. I would guess that means there is some type of lighting effect or texture attached to the layer that is preventing me from changing it to the color that I want?

Sounds like a keyframe, make sure the color remains the same for each keyframe. I just note the numeric info and type it in rather than adjust the slider.

I'm attempting to change it at the very end of the template just to get the numeric values I need, but it simply becomes either a lighter or darker shade of red.

Are you highlighting the correct keyframe? Also the color setting has 3 sliders that you can adjust. Play your show and watch your color sliders, if they move you'll need to correct a keyframe, or delete it.

This may also explain keyframes, from the users guide:
Working with keys
A keyframe (key) is a set of properties at a specific time. To produce an animation you need at least two different keys. BluffTitler computes all the frames in between.
Every key is represented as a small vertical line above the time slider. You can select a key by clicking on it, or by pressing the Previous Key and Next Key buttons.
You can edit keyframes with the buttons above the time slider. Keys can be moved, copied, pasted and deleted.

Maybe the EPS layer is using a red texture.
Remember that the colour of the texture is multiplied by the COLOUR property. This means that, for example, you can make a white texture look red, but you can never make a red texture look blue.
Press F9 (or choose MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE...) to find out which texture the EPS layer is using. Maybe you have to remove the texture or use another texture.

"Remember that the colour of the texture is multiplied by the COLOUR property. This means that, for example, you can make a white texture look red, but you can never make a red texture look blue."
I'm sure that myself and many other users weren't aware of that fact.
I just assumed that the EPS would become whatever color I used via the sliders.
Could you explain this a litte more?
And, would it be better for us to "most times" use a white EPS to avoid such issues?

I advise you to do some experimenting.
Create a picture layer (press the ADD PICTURE LAYER... button) and play around with the COLOUR property. Now load another picture (press the CHANGE TEXTURE... button) and do the same. You will notice that the result depends on the picture *and* the COLOUR property.
If this wasn't true it would make no sense using textures.

It must have been a texture layer. Once I changed it, I was able to adjust the color with the sliders. Thank you for the help!
