Does the newest version of this product have the ability to trace a picture automatically, or is it still necessary to trace each picture manually?
If it won't trace automatically, is there another (non-outerspace software) program that might do it, but be compatible with Bixelangelo
Thanks

hi!
Now, there is a kind of "leaf generator". You can add pictures, like flowers for example...
You can also draw a sketch manually, or convert a png picture!

I know about the leaf generator feature; that is not what I need/want. I want to be able to take a .png of text (either printing for handwriting) and use it for a sketch layer in BT WITHOUT having to trace it manually.
The new BA seems to possibly have this feature, but I can't make it work. I try Main Menu>Convert Sketch>Convert Picture to sketch.
Select valid .PNG file then export dialog pops up (picture I selected never appears in main window... this seems strange to me). I select my options click OK and new dialog says select starting point.
Since no pic in main window, there is no starting point to select. I click in the main window anyhow, but nothing happens.
Sadly, I suspect that tracing automatically just isn't in the program at all, or is there, but does now work.
Thanks

The CONVERT PICTURE TO SKETCH option is meant for turning a picture of an ornament into an animation. As if you empty a bucket of paint onto the shape and the paint slowly spreads itself over the shape. It works best when using solid shapes with a clear starting point.
This option does not trace the contours of the picture. This is not possible with the latest version of Bixelangelo.
We did some experiments, but nothing gave the impression of a human drawing. It was more like watching a paint robot in a car factory. Maybe we find a way to do it right in a next version. Thank your for your request!

Do you have a link to the picture you want to convert?

Michiel.... Thank you for that info. Admittedly, the programming would not be trivial. You would have to allow the user to specify a start/stop point for each "stroke" and then have the program follow the background pic for line width, etc. Each "stroke" would be played back in the same order as specified by the order that they were entered,
Possible, but a lot of work.
Sebouze... thanks for your feedback.

Found this site (I'm sure there are LOTS that are similar) that might give some insight as to what I'm talking about.
They are using a open source program called GIMP.
Of course, Michiel, this assumes you may want to add this feature someday. 8-)
