NextPreviousHomeTarget O- text flying through an O of another text

I have now upgraded to the Pro version as I hope to be a little more adventurous and I have been studying the wealth of valuable information in your Gallery.

As part of my learning curve, I have downloaded the media files for Target O. But in studying the behaviour of the various layers, I am unable to see any options to allow me to choose when the animation is behind the O, when it's flying through and then when it is in front of it. I would be gtrateful if you could explain what I am missing, please.

I have noticed that when I scrub the timeline of Target O (instead of playing it) three arrows, blue red and green, show the path of the animation. But these arrows don't show when I press the Play buton

Both texts are in 3D space. "Target O" is stationary. The word "plane" is moving in 3D space in relation to "Target O". The front to back direction is designated as "Z" and it's the bottom number.

If you look at the text position at the start, the "Z" for Target O is at 323, plane is at 586. As the effect progresses "Z" gets smaller so "plane" is moving towards the camera. That's how it goes behind or gets in front of another object.

The arrows you see can be turned on or off with the F2 key. They are universally used in 3D applications to indicate direction of movement. Red (X) is horizontal, green (Y) is vertical, and blue (Z) is front to back. They have nothing to do with the Play button.

hope this helps, Joe

Thank you for your help, Joe. I shall have to do some more studying. This program is very addictive (not a lot of housework getting done)

It's a while since I used BluffTitler and I have to confess that when I previously used it, it was more parrot fashion than with real understanding.

I have seen references to 2D and 3D in some of the gallery questions and so I do have a further question. Do I , in certain circumstances, have to choose an option for 2D or 3D, or is it just dependent on the depth we give a border?

BT is always 3D but if you add a picture layer you can specify how it's treated. 2D in the foreground or background, 3D in the foreground or background, etc

Text and eps files will always be 3D. With BT's 3D capabilities you rarely need anything to be 2D. Maybe a background picture occasionally. That's when you would use 2D in the background.
