The [F3] key in version 16.3.1.1 is correct and no problems were found. Refer to User Guide, keyboard [F3].

File > New show > add Text layer > select color property > press F3 : no color palette and text becomes black, colors values reset to 0,0,0.

Move the cursor, and when the cursor falls on what color, the text will show what color.

You are right shoji M but this is not logical, the palette should appear as soon as you press F3 and above all the text should not become black. This remains a minor problem.

I recorded a screen. Maybe that's what it means. The color palette appears when the cursor is over the action panel.

Sometimes i have palette sometimes no, just selecting color property nothing else.
Personally it doesn't bother me because I don't use this functionality but following maggico's post I noticed this strange behavior.

What happens is that when you place your cursor on a color, the font becomes that color. (The color palette will appear when the cursor is on the action panel)

When the mouse is inside the tool window, the standard Windows colour dialog is presented.

When the mouse is outside the tool window, the colour of the current mouse position is copied: it's a colour picker!

Ok, i was thinking it was the click which define the mouse postion for the palette call, but it's just the position of the mouse whether there is a click or not. It's clear now. Thanks Shoji M and michiel .
