If I apply a text to a terrain layer the text snaps to the terrain. I can do the same thing with a 3D model .x I would like the text to rest on the surface of the model

Interesting idea!

What kind of models would you like to use for this?

I have a jersey.x file and I would like to apply vertical lettering. As if the writing were printed on the shirt. This "effect" could be applied to all 3D objects

Sometimes a 3d model comes with a texture. If so, you could edit this Model in image-editting software and add a text. Save the new texture and add the texture in BT.

In this picture I used the BixPack_hat.x from Bix-pack 3 and textured it with a selfmade texture and reflectionmap and ColourmapReflectionmap.cfx.

Have you tried writing the text on the texture that the 3D model is using?

You could adjust the texture in a paint app. Or if you are ambitious, inside BluffTitler by using a colourmap layer.

My surface is not flat

GaspareNet, 4 years ago

Filip, we had the same idea at the same time ?

michiel, 4 years ago

GaspareNet, Filip's hat isn't flat either. That's the power of texture mapping!

If your model has no texture you could try using the Special\UVMapper effect.

Great UVMapper effect. it works!
But so the text is inside the texture and I can't manage it. Es make the written + clear
How can I upload the project in zip format?

GaspareNet, 4 years ago

GaspareNet, click on the "Update my own article" link at the top to add a ZIP file.

But please respect copyright and only upload the 3D model if you have created it yourself.

HI Michiel, I did not create the 3D model, it is a free resource on the net but for safety I do not post the project

GaspareNet, is this more-or-less the effect you are looking for?

YES Tjeb that is the effect, how did you create it?

GaspareNet, 4 years ago

GaspareNet, if you go to the folder: \BluffTitler\Media\Shows\WavingFlag
you will find: _WavingFlagLesson8.
I used that as a starting point.
I changed the Holland.png file for the one I created.
Bring down the wind force. my values: 0.01, -2, 0.02
Max stretch 0.1
If your values are to high, the white cloth hanger will bend.

So, basically it is fake. I tried a real 3D model, but it looked horrible.

-- I thought the word on your shirt was the name of your local football- or soccer- club. LOL.
