Here is another Model with a tribute to Michiel's Tardis but no box map fx again. Instead modeling and creating a UV map.
This is Michiels, which uses box fx and I think it is a great fx to quickly texture a box/rectangle;

That said, the power of BT can be leveraged by using a 3D models with UV map and a texture map to match.
I did a much better job with the object export out of Lightwave this time, if I do say so. I did not include a texture template but you can paint over the texture image to create a new one. Since it was a tribute, I just wanted to try my best to model it based on web images for reference and use little geometry and a good UV map to allow for BT to use it in real time.
The texture map is a little on the lo-res to keep the zip file size down but still good enough for a title animation.
Hope you like,
A model is a 3D object file. You make them using a 3D modeling program. Most commercial 3D programs have the modeler built in.
The use of 3D models and the format necessary to be used in BT, is described here in the user guide:
outerspace-software.com...
A UV map it a representation of the geometry or polygons, that make up the 3D model except flattened. This flat representation can be used in a paint program so that the image exactly lines up where you want it on the model.
As it states in the user guide, you need to save or convert your 3D object into DirectX file format.
Make sure to keep UV texture map and geometry small so that BT will not be bogged down trying to render a lot of polygons and using large images. Creating 3D objects for game engines design lends to the real time rendering of BT.

I just noticed I forgot to hide the UV template before saving the texture jpg.
How can I upload the new version to be used with the show?
Thanks,

Here is the new texture map with the template overlay removed (it was the black lines over the texture).

I've updated the Tardis.jpg file. Press F5 to reload the show.
Thanks for the excellent model!
