The same article says that "the thumbs up sign can be considered offensive in countries such as Thailand, Iran, Afghanistan".
Maybe the hand layer should be deleted and replaced by a smiley layer.
Facial expressions are probably more universal.
Or maybe not:

LB i have error 404 with IE, with Firefox no error but a black screen under adress bar, maybe incompability with Windows 7 or something like that.
