I have a video which had a good resolution on my PC.
Upon uploading it to Youtube, the video became grainy ( the resolution reduced.)
I intended to upload it to Youtube then post it as a show off in the community.
Anyone please advise on how I can upload without a downgrade of the resolution.
Thank you.
A good resolution is HD 1280 x 720. You can select this preset in the FILE > SET SHOW RESOLUTION... dialog.
Initially YouTube shows your video only in low quality. After a few minutes it has also processed the high quality version and will happily play your video in high quality as well.

upload video in MP4 H.264 codec
use same resolution as Original
use same frame-rate as Original
But always remember that YouTube will re-encode all video uploads but best results are given when the video is already compressed in H.264.
Use in Blufftitler to export video the uncompressed AVI option for best quality.
Use the link as guide to set your export options in your NLE to re-encode for YouTube.
Or use a free Video converter like Miro Video Converter and export as MP4

Thank you Michiel and Komies for your guides.
I will use the guides and show off in the community.

For short videos, say less than 10 seconds, you could also upload uncompressed.
No matter what re-encode strategy YouTube uses, this will give you the best possible quality.
