Hello Michiels,
I've seen in the past an example with an amazing effect.
It was a scrolling text on on the spacor of characters.
I probably deleted the file I downloaded and don't remember the FX name and how to do it.
Could someone remind me it ?
Thanks in advance
Do you mean something like this where texts and pictures are rendered on the sides of a logo?
michiel, 9 years ago
No. It was a simple text : let's say '"BT'.
And on the 3d dimension of letters (the spacor) an other text 'Bluff Titler' was scrolling around the letter.
I hope it can help you

Aha, it must be this one:
Sketch\SketchAttachedText.bt
It comes with the latest installer. You can open it by choosing FILE > OPEN SHOW...

Thanks Michiel.
You says the latest installer, do you mean 'V12', because I still running V11.
Regards.

I know which one you mean it was posted by Lostboyz but he removed it from the community. So maybe you can ask him. It was show M5584
DIY
add layer / add text layer / type BT
Clone active layer / set style to tubular square / F9 / select texture (prepaired texture backgound (white) with Text (black) and select effect / UV Modifier.
Now you can animate the FX texture position in the properties dropdown.
The rotation of the whole two layers of text was done with the camera layer.

Hi guys, I found the response.
The text has to be converted into an image and the effect 'UVModifier' applied on the duplicated layer.
Greetings.

Komies,
Could you show us how you animate this? I'm trying to figure out how to do this also. It's a real neat effect.

I thought it was a neat effect too.
First I thought it was a text scrolling effect but it is much simpler,, it's a picture with text. A white background with a black text used as a texture for the actual text.
- make a picture in blufftitler (set backgound white (File / Set backgound color)) then type a text in black and save (File / Export as Picture)
- make new show, type short text like BT (Layer / add layer / add text layer) press F9 change effect to AdvancedMaterials / Colormap Reflectionmap and the texture to ReflectionMap_Silver.jpg and set in the 3rd layer style dropdown to Round Bevel.
- Clone this layer (Layer / Clone active layer) and set in the 3rd layer style dropdown to tubular square, press F9 change effect to Special / UVModifier and add texture with the text_picture you had made in the first slot.
- Animate the FX texture position in the properties dropdown. Set a keyframe in the beginning and set the FX texture position to -4 in the first slider and set a keyframe at the end and set the FX texture position to 1 in the first slider.
-Done
tips:
- put both layers in a container so they animate as one.
- Use FX texture scale and the second slider FX texture position to centre the picture of the text.
Good luck

I think I've followed your instructions but I seem to be missing something. I've made a screen recording of my attempt (my mouse was acting up on me so there are a few unintentional pauses along the way). When I finally get done I can see something is happening so I think I'm not completely understanding the animation process or how to tilt the text to see the edges better.
MrGruntHunter, 9 years ago
Now that's interesting. I noticed you didn't have to put everything in a common container to work. Even with the different language I think I'm following what you are doing and I'm going to give it a try right now!
Many Thanks for posting the tutorial. Greatly appreciated.

Which version of BluffTitler are you using? I can follow most everything except what you are choosing for your text changes due to the language difference. I'm trying to select whatever is in the same drop down box position but eventually I get lost. Also, are you reducing the resolution greatly in the first show that gets created and exported as a picture. It looks like 200 x 70.
MrGruntHunter, 9 years ago
I'm with the latest version, the texture image must be 200 x 50 pixels and place it near the edges of the screen.
Here I leave the tutorial project

I'm having fun playing with your tutorial B.Projects.
Just curious, what controls the speed of the scrolling text around the edges?
MrGruntHunter, 9 years ago
go to the layer 5
after the toolbox on the left
There you will find (Texture FX speed)

a tip: pull the lower window BluffTitler toolbox. thus they appear more icons that you are unable to use.
I see that in many cases you access to tools at the top. and can save time by using the shortcut icons provided that Michiel us.
