I am working on a Logo title and having serious trouble importing BMP and EPS files.
Simply put without writing a lengthy wordy novel... Importing BMP'S I get a white background no matter what program I use MS Paint, Inkscape, Paint.net etc. Nothing I have tried works even after perusing the forums. Secondly, after failing at bit map importing I tried converting to EPS files only to continually find the files are too large. I have failed to get them down to size and I am not that savvy to use a file editor to enter commands let alone know what commands to use if I could. I was successful in getting one of the four files down to a reasonable size fro BT to open only to find the darn white background.
Any suggestions as to what I can do to remedy this problem or correct my mistakes that I am obviously making somewhere? I am simply trying to take four separate components and animate them to come from behind the camera and come together as one on the left of the screen next to animated text. I am a little frustrated over my in ability to make this happen.
Where going to troubleshoot!
Version 11 or 12?
BMP
1. Is it every picture you add or just the ones you made? (try it)
2. what's the pixel size of your BMP? make it as big as your export quality (e.g. 1920x1080)
3. How much video memory does your GPU have? (Try settings > Low Quality)
EPS
1. does it happen to all pictures to .eps (try smaller simpeler image)
2. are you using the big BMP to add traced picture layer to make .eps? (make image smaller and try the add traced picture layer)
3. Do you want to use rectangle .eps or has it more corners like text? (save picture as .PNG with transparant on after you have removed the background)

I`m using Vector Magic (vectormagic.com) to convert to EPS. These EPS files work without problems in BT

My apologies, fro leaving out the version. I am using V10.2
I use a Nvidia GTX 580 2mb. Its happening with any Bit Map Or EPS file. I just can not get rid of the backgrounds on the bit maps and can not get the EPS files to a manageable size. Its been very frustrating.

What happens when you create a new picture layer (choose LAYER > ADD LAYER > ADD PICTURE LAYER...) and select any of the textures (BMP, PNG or JPG) that come with the installer.
Are they fully white as well?

All of the textures photos included with BT work just fine. I guess I will have to sit down and think this through thoroughly. I have to be missing something.

I was finally successful. I downloaded GIMP and was able to create my graphic with a transparency. worked fine but, now when I render the AVI it fails and times out. Can't win for loosing!

I advise you to:
-use a common resolution like 1280 x 720
-export WITHOUT transparency
-export WITHOUT compression
-save memory by closing all other apps
