NextPreviousHomeAutohotkeys (AHK) and BluffTitler

Hello all,

Just a quick newbie question if I may - has anybody managed to use autohotscripts with BT? I am a regular Prezi user and designer of Prezis and would like to use BluffTitler as an alternative presentation platform which has always been at the back of mind as a possibility. For the possible screen quality and animation alone this would be worth doing I think.

I have searched the forum for this sort of question and I know that this is not really what it is designed for, but could see BluffTitler working well with autohotscripts to automate timings, next slide etc.

I think it could be used in a live situation with the current key shortcuts but I would like to possibly add other features for clients (change keys for possible use of a remote clicker).

I have tried to control BluffTitler with AHK code with little success (BluffTitler comes up as a Direct3DWindowClass for its window) and with my weak knowledge in this area I cannot get it to work.

Also is there any way to run BluffTitler as a portable show (standalone)?

Any advice would be great.. and yes I think BluffTitler is amazing...

cheers

John

Hello michiel,

thanks for coming back - yes thanks I have played around with it and as you suggest this is the only way I can see of controlling a live presentation possibly - I've experimented and used your built in shortcuts 'Control 'I' for full screen and then Alt Right / left keys to jump to each show / section, which seem to work well.

I would need to make each show start just like the previous one ended I think to make it seamless (as if using a presentation software)?

Ideally michiel, if it was possible I would like to have a simpler key combination (hence why AHK question) with less chance of me getting it wrong in front of a large audience or maybe a way to use a clicker?

I have recently been asked to build a presentation for an audience of 700+ and would have loved to have used your software so any suggestions :)

Has anybody else used it like this before I wonder?

Thanks again

Another option is to add NEXT SLIDE and PREVIOUS SLIDE buttons to every show.

You can set the show that is played when you click on those buttons in the link field of the LAYER > ACTIVE LAYER PROPERTIES... dialog.

Hello michiel,

thanks for the suggestion it works well - however it does not seem to work in full screen for me and the mouse disappears (is that right?). To be honest user interaction would not be something I would use as the presentation would be driven by a backroom person or by the presenter themselves - in my experience some professional teams still use a blue light backstage (given by the presenter using a clicker) to tell them when to move on in the presentation and moving a mouse around on the screen night not look great for some clients.

Thanks michiel for your great product, maybe you would consider this and the inclusion of presenter tools in a future upgrade? - I understand that its not meant for this in the first place and I don't mean to tread on any toes :)

If I find out any tricks or workarounds I'll share it with you and the community.

Thanks again

Another option is to use 2 monitors.

On the 1st monitor you place the render window fullscreen and choose SETTINGS > MOVE MENU.

On the 2nd monitor you place the tool windows.

When you make sure your audience can only see the 1st monitor, for example by using a beamer, you can easily load, play, pause and stop shows on the 2nd monitor.

Thanks michiel,

funny enough I have two monitors and I have been experimenting with this option (move the menu and also put out of browser mode and it goes full screen with workable controls on the other as you suggest).

I think it might also be possible to do this with one monitor and a beamer using extended screen mode but I need to play around with this a bit more.

Thanks again michiel

cheers
