Trying to export model from Blender that has Particles (hair) and Diffuse BSDF colors applied to surfaces. Neither will export with Direct X model into BT...just the smooth model??
Uploaded here if you find time:

Never tried to convert particles and really not sure if it's possible. I'll play around with the file though and see what I can come up with.

The shader (Diffuse BSDF) can not be exported because it's a condition not a texture/material.
The hair can be done, but would take some serious processing power and/or loads of patience, but here's how I found to do it.
On the layers where particles are present, under the MODIFIERS tab, you have to hit the CONVERT button. This creates a separate mesh layer of the particles. Each strand though is a vertices string and has no faces, so you have to convert the mesh to a curve (Alt+C in edit window = Convert to-Curve from Mesh or Text) IF YOUR COMPUTER WILL CONVERT IT??? Great, now you have to add a Curve Circle to the scene and apply it as the Bevel Object of your hair strands. There should be a DATA tab next to the modifiers tab now that the hair is a curve. Under Geometry it has a Bevel Object drop down window where you select "BezierCircle". The circle will be WAY too big, so select the circle and size it down until the strands look like hairs. Now with the hair mesh selected, convert it back to a mesh (Alt+C [Mesh from Curve]) and now the hair layer will process like any other mesh layer.
Do that for all three layers with particles then go back and delete the actual particles from each mesh layer. Apply your materials, combine the layers, remove doubles, recalculate and you're done.

Hi Billy Jack - Thanks for the research. About half way through the conversion process, my computer "retired for the evening". When I restarted this morning, it said, "Don't even think about it!" Guess I'll have to find some realistic-looking hair as a material?
In the interim, I'll just have to go with an image. You can see the final here if you're interested. It's for my granddaughter:

Very nice, I have 2 Granddaughters of my own so I really like that!
On the hair, try one of the bumpmap combo fx and on the eyes a reflectionmap or cubemap. You could come close with those.
