hello, how can i give a text a skin, like glowing iron / metal?

it should be a skin for a 3D text and it should look like this ppicture

yes i know, but this is not want i want. i want each single letter look equal. each letter should glow heavy in the middle ( white/yellow ) and become a little more darkness to the edges ( orange ) , because this is the colder area.
and maybe the bevels are very dark.

its very difficult to explain my problem but thanks for your help. this is not what im looking for. i tried it, but it wont work. the letters are not looking equal.

To the text layer, add a gradient feather effect and adjust the top and bottom to represent the cool down area of the metal. Then add a plasma blob layer to the text. You'll have to play around with the adjustments a bit, but it'll give you the effect you're discribing.
