songbaojin, Ilja and liuyongcai like this!
The video for BixPack 32 - Moon (Re-Released) is amazing.
However, the tutorial on building the Earth near the end doesn't really teach anything IMHO.
Step 1: Start with a Sphere. How?? I assume you just create a picture using a white square then set it to a sphere.
Step 2: Add a ColourMap. How??
Step 3: Add a Displacement Map. How??
Step 4: Add City Lights. How??
Step 5: Add Clouds. How??
Step 6: Add an Atmosphere. How??
It's a very simplistic tutorial that leaves a lot out. It tells you **what** to do but doesn't tell you **how** to do it.
I'm not trying to be critical, so please don't think I'm having ago at someone. Perhaps the end of the BixPack demo is not the right place for a detailed explanation, but I think a video taking the viewer through the steps (not a written tutorial) is warranted and would be very beneficial.
Thanks.
This template shows the building blocks, it is not meant as a tutorial. I'll try to answer your questions, one per comment.
1) The picture layer has a sphere style:

3) In the same dialog you can select a displacement map in the 3th texture slot.
And also in the same dialog, the Sphere\Earth effect can be selected that knows how to use those textures.

4) In the very same dialog, a picture of Earth by night can be selected in the 2nd texture slot.
The Sphere\Earth effect, selected in the same dialog, is vital because it tells BluffTitler what to do with the textures.
Notice that we're still looking at the same layer: layer 18 of BixPack32\05_Earth5.bt

5) The clouds are rendered by a separate layer. Select layer 19 and choose MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE... to find out what makes it tick.

6) The atmosphere also needs its own layer. Select layer 20 and choose MEDIA > CHANGE TEXTURE... to find out what makes it tick.
